Tells you: Whether the right amount of plastic comes out.
Calibration menu › Flow rate › Coarse, then › Fine · It works the same on any FDM printer. The menu is Bambu Studio's; Orca Slicer has a very similar one, and in other slicers you print the same test with a downloadable model. Can't see the menu?
How
- First pass (“Coarse”): print a set of tiles, each with a number that says how much more or less plastic it uses.
- Pick the tile with the smoothest, most even surface, by touch and by eye, and work out the new flow: current flow × (1 + number / 100). With 0.98 and tile −5: 0.98 × 0.95 = 0.93.
- Save that value and run the second pass (“Fine”), which refines it in smaller steps. Apply the same sum to the new value.
How to read it
Too much: smeared lines, the nozzle scrapes the part, supports are hard to remove. Too little: a surface with open lines, weak parts.
Calculator: enter what you read on the piece
Coarse: 0.98 × (1 − 0.05) = 0.931. Save this value before printing the “Fine” pass.
Where the value goes: Filament › Filament › Basic information › Flow ratio (with “Advanced” on).
