Move it, see it, get it
Understand every setting in your slicer
Bambu Studio has hundreds of settings and hardly anyone knows what each one does. Deslice explains every setting in everyday words, for people who print without being technical: what it does, when to change it, what can go wrong, and a drawing that reacts as you slide the value.
We use Bambu Studio as the reference, but the ideas also apply to OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, Cura and other slicers; the names and where each setting lives may change. The example values are from the Bambu Lab A1 factory profile.
Find it where it is in the program
The panel on the left is the Bambu Studio one: same tabs, same order and the factory values. This beta covers the basic settings; the advanced ones are coming soon.
Read what it does, without jargon
Each page tells you how it works, when to change it, typical values and what to watch out for, with real examples. Unusual words link to the glossary.
Move it and see what happens
Every setting has a drawing that changes with the value. Whatever you change in the panel shows in the drawing, and the other way round.
Where to start
Layer height, line width, seam, precision, ironing and walls.
StrengthWalls, infill and top/bottom shells: what makes a part strong.
SupportScaffolding for what hangs in the air: type, angle, contact layer and tree.
OthersBrim, prime tower, vase mode, fuzzy skin and more.
Temperatures, cooling fan, retraction and purging for each material.
Machine limits, nozzle and start code.
“Standard”, “Fine”, “Draft”, “Strength”… Bambu Studio comes with 10 profiles for this printer. What each one changes from the factory one, and why.

This is what the drawing on every page looks like: move the value and see what changes in the part. On the setting pages, the panel on the left and the drawing stay in sync.
