Skirt loops
In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it to0
How many loose loops the nozzle draws around the part before starting it, so the plastic is flowing evenly when it gets there. At 0 there's no skirt.
How it works
The skirt is an outline that doesn't touch the part: it's printed a few millimeters away, on the first layer, and it lets the nozzle push out old plastic and find its rhythm before the real part. Each extra loop purges a little more.
Bambu printers already draw a purge line at the start, so the A1 profile comes with 0 loops and you won't notice the difference.
When to change it
- For almost anything: 0, the profile value; Bambu printers already purge at the start.
- A filament that takes a while to flow evenly, like a flexible TPU, or right after changing the nozzle: 1 or 2 loops.
- An ABS box on an open printer, to block cold air: 2 loops with a “Skirt height” of several layers.

Watch out for
- The skirt takes up room around the part; on a full plate, it may not fit.
- At 0 loops, the skirt height and distance do nothing.
