When you paint a bottom face a different color, this sets how many layers up that color goes. It only matters in multicolor prints.
How it works
It's the same as “Top paint penetration layers”, but for faces that point down: the painted color extends several layers inward so the neighboring filament doesn't show through.
It's set to 3, the same as the bottom layers.
When to change it
- A coaster with a white logo painted on the bottom, and the color above shows through: raise it to 4 or 5.
- A part with many painted areas on the bottom, where filament changes make the print take much longer: lower it to 2.

Watch out for
- If you don't use several filaments or paint any areas, it does nothing.
- Each extra layer with two colors adds a filament change and its purge (the plastic thrown away when switching colors).
