In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it toMonotonic
The pattern the lines make on the face that touches the plate. On a textured plate you barely notice it; on a smooth plate, “Monotonic” gives the most even face.
How it works
The first layer gets pressed against the plate and copies its texture: on a textured plate, the line pattern is barely visible. On a smooth plate you can see it, and there it pays to use a pattern that doesn't leave marks at every change of direction.
“Monotonic” (the default) prints every line in the same direction. “Rectilinear” goes back and forth, and is a bit faster. The rest are decorative.
When to change it
- Any part printed on a textured plate: it doesn't matter, leave “Monotonic”.
- A coaster or a fridge magnet printed on a smooth plate, with the bottom on display: “Monotonic”, or “Concentric” if the base is round.
- A decorative plaque that hangs on the wall and whose back face also shows: “Hilbert Curve” or “Archimedean Chords”.
