Fill multiline

In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it to1

Prints each infill line as a group of several lines of plastic side by side. At the same density, the infill's inner walls come out thicker and the part stiffer.

Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Sparse infill density” is greater than 0 and “Sparse infill pattern” is “Cubic” or “Grid” or “Rectilinear” or “Aligned Rectilinear” or “Gyroid” or “Honeycomb” or “Lightning” or “3D Honeycomb” or “Adaptive Cubic” or “Support Cubic”. See Sparse infill density, Sparse infill pattern.

How it works

At 1 (the default), each line of the grid or gyroid is a single line of plastic. At 3, each line is three lines together, and the pattern spreads out so the infill percentage stays the same: fewer lines, but thicker ones.

An inner wall three lines thick bends much less than one line, so with the same plastic the part is stiffer. It only works with patterns that support it: grid, cubic, rectilinear, aligned rectilinear, gyroid, honeycomb, 3D honeycomb, adaptive cubic, support cubic and lightning.

When to change it

  • A shelf bracket or the arm of an organizer that will carry weight, without raising the density much: 2 or 3.
  • A large part with little infill (10%) that feels soft when you squeeze it: 2.
  • Regular parts: 1.

Typical values

ValueWhat for
1Default; one line of plastic per linedefault
2Double lines
3Triple lines; very stiff

Watch out for

  • With thicker, more widely spaced lines, the top layers have bigger gaps to cover: you may need one more solid layer.
  • It doesn't show up with patterns that don't support it (with “Gyroid”, yes; with “Cross Zag”, no).

Goes well with

What Bambu Studio says

Using multiple lines for the infill pattern, if supported by infill pattern.
