Fuzzy skin point distance
In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it to0.8 mm
How many millimeters apart the nozzle changes direction while making the texture. Closer means finer grain and more time; farther apart means coarser grain.
Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Fuzzy Skin” is not “None(allow paint)”. See Fuzzy Skin.
How it works
The texture is made by placing random points along the wall; at each one, the nozzle veers off. This value is the average distance between points: with 0.8 mm there's a point every 0.8 mm of wall.
More points give a finer grain, but slicing and printing get slower and the print file (G-code) grows. If the value is too small, the program turns the texture off to avoid generating nonsense paths.
When to change it
- General texture for a planter or a figure: 0.8 mm (default).
- Fine sandstone-like grain on a small figure: 0.3–0.5 mm.
- Coarse, scaly grain on a large vase: 1.5–2 mm.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0.8 mm | Defaultdefault |
| 0.3–0.5 mm | Fine grain |
| 1.5–2 mm | Coarse grain |
Watch out for
- Only shows up with fuzzy skin turned on.
