Fuzzy skin noise type
In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it toClassic
The random “pattern” that makes up the texture: fine, even grain (classic), gentle waves (Perlin), bumps (Billow), marble-like ridges, or mosaic-like cells (Voronoi).
How it works
Noise is the random pattern the nozzle follows as it moves. Classic noise moves each point at random, unrelated to its neighbors: fine, even grain. The others are “coherent” noises: nearby points move in a similar way, also from one layer to the next, and that's how shapes appear: waves, bumps, ridges or cells.
With coherent noises, the advanced settings “Fuzzy skin feature size”, “Fuzzy skin noise octaves” and “Fuzzy skin noise persistence” change the size and fineness of those shapes.
When to change it
- A planter with a sandstone look: Classic (default).
- A case with a leather feel or a decorative log: Perlin or Billow.
- A rock figure or a marble-look base: ridged. A scaly dragon or a mosaic: Voronoi.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| Classic | Defaultdefault |
| Perlin / Billow | Soft, organic |
| Ridged / Voronoi | Marble, scales |
Watch out for
- Coherent noises take longer to slice.
- Only shows up with fuzzy skin turned on.

What Bambu Studio says
Noise type to use for fuzzy skin generation: Classic: Classic uniform random noise. Perlin: Perlin noise, which gives a more consistent texture. Billow: Similar to perlin noise, but clumpier. Ridged Multifractal: Ridged noise with sharp, jagged features. Creates marble-like textures. Voronoi: Divides the surface into voronoi cells, and displaces each one by a random amount. Creates a patchwork texture.
