Fuzzy skin on the first layer

In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it toNo

Apply the texture to the first layer too. It's usually left smooth so it sticks well to the plate.

Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Fuzzy Skin” is not “None(allow paint)”. See Fuzzy Skin.

How it works

The first layer is squashed against the plate and is what holds the part down. With texture, its outer wall jitters and sticks less well. That's why it's off by default: the texture starts on the second layer, leaving a one-layer smooth band at the base.

If that smooth band bothers you and the part sticks well to the plate, turn it on.

When to change it

  • A figure on a base: off (default).
  • A planter or box whose bottom edge is visible and should have the same texture: turn it on, as long as the first layer sticks well.
