Skirt height
In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it to1 layers
How many layers tall the skirt is. At 1 it's just a purge line; with several it becomes a low wall that shields the base of the part from cold air.
How it works
A one-layer skirt does its purging job and never shows up again. If you make it several layers tall, it builds a wall around the part that blocks drafts at the base: the part shrinks less as it cools and fewer corners lift.
Each extra layer is one full loop of plastic and time, on every layer of the part up to that height.
When to change it
- For almost anything: 1, the default.
- An ABS, ASA or nylon box on an open printer whose corners lift: 5–10 layers.
- With PLA or PETG you almost never need it.

Watch out for
- It needs at least 1 loop in “Skirt loops”.
- A tall wall only one line thick can tip over; with 2 loops it's sturdier.
