With several parts on the plate: print them all at once, layer by layer, or finish one completely before starting the next.
How it works
“By layer” is the usual choice: the toolhead prints layer 1 of every part, then layer 2, and so on. “By object” finishes one part completely before starting the next: there are fewer strings between parts, and if one fails, the others are saved.
“By object” means leaving more space between parts, because the toolhead moves down next to parts that are already finished, and staying under the maximum height the printer allows. The program warns you if something doesn't fit.
When to change it
- For almost everything, and always with multiple colors: By layer (default).
- A plate with ten small keychains or game tokens: By object; if one comes loose, the rest still finish.
- Several vases in spiral mode: By object is required.

Watch out for
- Can't be used with the prime tower or with clumping detection.
