Skin infill pattern
In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it toCross Zag
With the “Locked Zag” pattern: the infill pattern in the skin, the band of infill right against the walls. The skeleton, further in, has its own.
Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Sparse infill pattern” is “Locked Zag”. See Sparse infill pattern.
How it works
“Locked Zag” splits the inside into two zones: a skin next to the walls and a skeleton in the middle. Each has its own pattern and density, and the two interlock in a band where they overlap. The skin reinforces the area where the part takes the most stress, right behind the walls.
“Cross Zag” (the default) gives a skin that's stiff in every direction; “Grid” is similar; “Gyroid” handles impacts better.
When to change it
- A shelf bracket or a hinge that carries weight near its edges: “Cross Zag” or “Grid”.
- A remote control case or an RC car bumper that's going to get dropped or crash: “Gyroid”.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| Cross Zag | Defaultdefault |
| Grid | Stiff, fast |
| Gyroid | Handles impacts, slower |
Watch out for
- It only shows up with the “Locked Zag” infill pattern.
