Bottom shell thickness
In Bambu Studio, the profile 0.20mm Standard @BBL A1 sets it to0 mm
The minimum thickness, in millimeters, of the solid layers at the bottom: if the layers you asked for don't reach it, more are added. It's set to 0, so by default only the layer count matters.
How it works
It works like “Top shell thickness”, but for the base. With 3 bottom layers of 0.2 mm, the base is 0.6 mm thick; with 0.08 mm layers, only 0.24 mm. If you set a minimum thickness here, the slicer adds layers when the layers are thin.
At 0, the setting is off and “Bottom shell layers” decides on its own.
When to change it
- A box or a bracket printed with thin layers, whose base has to be stiff: 0.6 or 0.8 mm.
- The base of a pencil holder you print at different layer heights and want equally sturdy every time: 0.6 mm.
- The usual: leave it at 0 and adjust by layer count.

The number of bottom solid layers is increased when slicing if the thickness calculated by bottom shells layers is thinner than this value. This can avoid having too thin shell when layer height is small. 0 means that this setting is disabled and thickness of bottom shell is absolutely determained by bottom shell layers
