Manual circle offset
On top of automatic circle compensation, it tightens or loosens the fit by a few hundredths of a millimeter. Positive is tighter; negative is looser.
How it works
Automatic compensation brings circles to their designed size. But an “exact” fit isn't always what you want: a pin that should press in, or a shaft that should spin freely. This value shifts the result in whichever direction you choose.
With a positive value, holes come out smaller (tighter fit); with a negative one, larger (looser).
When to change it
- A screw that wobbles in its hole: +0.05 or +0.1 mm.
- A shaft that should spin freely inside a wheel but gets stuck: -0.05 or -0.1 mm.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| -0.1 | Looser fit |
| 0 | Default; designed sizedefault |
| +0.1 | Tighter fit |
Watch out for
- It only shows up with “Auto circle contour-hole compensation” turned on, and it only affects what that option corrects.
