Wall transition length
With Arachne: how much room is set aside for two walls to merge into one (or one to split into two) as the part gets thinner. Longer makes the change more gradual.
How it works
At the spot where the number of walls changes, Arachne needs a stretch to go from one count to the other little by little. This value is the length of that stretch, as a percentage of the nozzle diameter: with a 0.4 mm nozzle, 100% is 0.4 mm.
A longer stretch spreads the change over more distance; a shorter one packs it into one spot.
When to change it
- You'll almost never need to change it.
- A part that tapers, like the wing of a toy airplane, where a mark shows at the spot where the number of walls changes: try 200 or 300%.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 100% | Defaultdefault |
| 300% | More gradual transition |
| 500% | Very long; wipes out detail on small parts |
Watch out for
- It only does anything with the Arachne wall generator.

What Bambu Studio says
When transitioning between different numbers of walls as the part becomes thinner, a certain amount of space is allotted to split or join the wall segments. It's expressed as a percentage over nozzle diameter
