Scarf start height
How high the scarf ramp starts, relative to the layer. At 0 it starts from the very bottom; at 100% it becomes a normal seam.
How it works
The scarf is a ramp: the loop starts lower than usual and climbs up to the layer height. This value is the height of the lowest point, in millimeters or as a percentage of the layer height. Bambu filaments use 10%.
The lower it starts, the more the two ramps overlap and the better the seam is hidden; but the nozzle also passes closer to the previous layer.
When to change it
- A vase with a scarf where the seam still shows: lower it toward 0.
- A drag mark where the seam starts, because the nozzle scrapes the layer below: raise it to 20 or 30%.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0 | Full ramp |
| 10% | Defaultdefault |
| 50% | Half ramp |
| 100% | In practice, no scarf |
Watch out for
- At 100% the scarf no longer exists even if the type is turned on.
- In the process it only shows up if “Override filament scarf seam setting” is turned on; otherwise it's set in the filament profile.
