Infill lock depth

With the “Locked Zag” pattern: how many millimeters the skin and skeleton overlap, so the two infills lock into each other instead of just touching.

Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Sparse infill pattern” is “Locked Zag”. See Sparse infill pattern.

How it works

If the skin and skeleton each stopped exactly where the other begins, that border would be a weak line. With this overlap, the skeleton reaches 1 mm (the default) into the skin and the two patterns cross in that band: that's what “locks” one into the other.

When to change it

  • A bracket or a handle that, when it broke, split right where the skin ends and the skeleton begins: raise it to 2 mm.
  • The usual: 1 mm.

Watch out for

  • It can't be larger than “Skin infill depth” (the thickness of the skin).
  • It only shows up with the “Locked Zag” infill pattern.
