Scarf gap
How much the loop is shortened when it closes with a scarf, to leave room for leftover plastic. It's the same idea as “Seam gap”, but applied to the scarf ramp.
How it works
When a loop closes with a scarf, the downward ramp ends right where the upward one began. Just like with a normal seam, the plastic left over from nozzle pressure can form a small bump at that point. This setting cuts the ramp off a little earlier.
It's given in millimeters or as a percentage of the line width. At 0, the loop closes completely.
When to change it
- A cup with a scarf that shows a small bump right where the loop ends: try 0.1 or 0.2 mm.
- If you get a tiny gap instead of a bump: leave it at 0.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0 | Default; no gapdefault |
| 0.1 | A tiny gap for the leftover plastic |
| 0.3 | Filaments that ooze a lot |
Watch out for
- In the process it only shows up if “Override filament scarf seam setting” is turned on.
- Since the scarf already spreads the leftover plastic along the ramp, you almost never need to touch this.
