Support pattern angle
Rotates the lines in the body of the support on the plate. You rarely need it; it's useful, for example, to make the lines cross a narrow support instead of running along it.
Greyed out (you can see it but not change it) unless “Enable support” is on. See Enable support.
How it works
Support lines run parallel to the plate's X axis (0°). This setting rotates them by the angle you choose, just like “Infill direction” rotates the part's infill.
Changing it can make the support more stable (if the lines cross a narrow section) or change where it breaks when you pull it off.
When to change it
- Almost always: 0°, the default.
- A long, narrow support, like the one holding up the wing of a toy plane, bends: try 90° so the lines cross it.
- You want a figure's support to break into small pieces when you pull it off: 45°.
