Maximum fan speed
The part cooling fan's ceiling. It's reached on the shortest layers, which need to cool quickly.
How it works
On very short layers (the tip of a figure, a thin column), one layer's plastic is still soft when the next one arrives. That's when the fan goes up to this maximum.
Between the maximum and the minimum, the speed eases down as layers take longer.
When to change it
- PLA: high (PLA Basic: 80%).
- Tips or small details that come out melted even with the fan at maximum: check that “Slow printing down for better layer cooling” is on.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 80% | PLA Basicdefault |
| 100% | Bambu generic profile |
Watch out for
- On ABS and ASA, a lot of air cracks the part: their base profiles cap it at 80%.
