Object flow ratio
Multiplies all the plastic that comes out of the nozzle for one specific object on the plate. It lets you correct that object without touching the filament profile; it doesn't appear in the global settings.
How it works
The base amount of plastic is set by the filament profile (its “Flow ratio”, calibrated for each material). This setting is an extra correction that only exists per object: when you select an object in the “Objects” tab, you can give it a different factor from the rest of the plate.
The final amount is the filament's multiplied by this one. At 1 nothing changes; the useful range is 0.95 to 1.05.
When to change it
- A plate with several parts where one gear comes out with too much plastic (fat teeth, flash) and the rest come out fine: lower just that one to 0.97.
- A homemade calibration test: print several copies of a cube on the same plate, each with its own factor (0.96, 0.98, 1, 1.02), and keep the one that looks best.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0.97 | Object with too much plastic |
| 1 | Defaultdefault |
| 1.03 | Object with too little plastic |
Watch out for
- If everything you print with a filament comes out with too much or too little plastic, calibrate the filament's flow instead of changing this on each part.
- In the program it's called “Object flow ratio”, and it only shows up with developer mode turned on and while editing an object.
