Full fan speed at layer
From the first layers, the fan rises gradually and reaches its normal speed at this layer. At 0 there's no ramp: it jumps straight there.
How it works
Going from 0 to 60% at once suddenly cools a part that was warm, and that can make it shrink and come loose. With a ramp, the fan rises gradually from the first-layer speed to the normal one, reached at the layer you set here.
If this number isn't greater than “For the first”, there's no ramp.
When to change it
- PLA on normal parts: 0, no ramp.
- ABS, ASA or large parts that come loose when the fan kicks in: 4–6.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0 | Default, no rampdefault |
| 4–6 | Materials that shrink |
Watch out for
- A long ramp leaves several layers with little fan: overhangs at that height come out worse.
