Override the filament's scarf
In Bambu Studio, each filament decides the scarf seam. With this box checked the process takes over, and its four scarf settings show up for you to control.
How it works
Every Bambu filament profile comes with its own scarf seam setup (type, start height, gap and length), because the behavior changes with the material. That's why those settings are hidden in the process.
When you check this box, the process ignores what the filament says and shows its own scarf settings below. Like any process setting, it can be applied to a single object or to a modifier, so you can have a scarf on one part and not on another.
When to change it
- A vase and a box on the same plate: check the box only in the vase's settings and give it a scarf; the box keeps its normal seam.
- You want to try different scarf values without editing the filament profile: turn it on.
- Normal use: leave it off and let the filament decide.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| No | Default; the filament decidesdefault |
| Yes | The process's scarf settings take over |
Watch out for
- When you turn it on, the process's four scarf settings start from their default values, not the filament's: check them.
- The scarf settings that don't depend on the filament (smart, threshold, steps, inner walls, entire loop) always live in the process.

Using another slicer? Look for the idea, not the name: in Orca Slicer almost everything has the same name; in PrusaSlicer or Cura it may be called something else, or not exist.
