Soluble material
Marks the filament as soluble: a support you remove by dissolving it, usually in water.
How it works
Some support filaments, like PVA or BVOH, dissolve in water. Used for the support layer that touches the part, they wash off and the underside comes out clean, with no tear marks.
It's a profile flag: it comes set in those filaments' profiles and the program uses it to know which ones suit support.
When to change it
- The soluble filament's profile sets it; don't turn it on for a normal PLA.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| Off | PLA Basicdefault |
| On | PVA, BVOH |
Watch out for
- Soluble filaments soak up moisture very quickly: keep them dry or they won't print well.
- Only shown with Develop mode turned on in Preferences.
