Interlocking depth
How far the beams of one material reach into the other, measured in cells. Too little grips poorly; too much mixes the colors more at the border.
How it works
Interlocking is calculated on a grid of cells; this number says how many cells on each side of the border get beams. With 2 (default), the beams reach in far enough to grip without spreading too much.
With few cells, the bond barely improves.
When to change it
- To start: 2 (default).
- A TPU-on-PLA wheel that still comes apart: 3–4.
- A two-material logo whose border must stay very clean: 1, accepting less grip.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 2 | Defaultdefault |
| 3–4 | More grip |
| 1 | Clean border |
Watch out for
- Only works with “Use beam interlocking” turned on.
