Prime tower max speed

The top speed for printing the prime tower, not counting ramming. Faster saves time; too fast, and the tower comes out uneven.

Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Enable” is on. See Enable.

How it works

The tower doesn't have to look nice, so it prints fast. This is the cap for its infill; ramming (the quick push of filament the printer does right before a change) goes at its own pace.

With filaments that tend to pile up, like PETG, going very fast leaves bumps that the nozzle brushes on the next layer.

When to change it

  • For almost anything: 90 mm/s, the default.
  • A two-color PETG keychain whose tower comes out bumpy, or the print head brushes it: 60 mm/s.
  • The tower comes out clean and you want to save time on a sign with lots of color changes: 120 mm/s.
