Prime tower skip points
Leaves a gap in the prime tower's wall where the first path enters after each filament change, so the blob the nozzle brings along doesn't stay on the outside of the tower.
How it works
After a filament change, the nozzle has a bit of plastic hanging off it. If the first path starts on the outside of the tower, that bit sticks there, the next layer runs over it and the nozzle may scrape.
With this option, the tower's wall leaves an opening: the path goes in through it and the leftover stays inside the gap. On top of that, the slicer irons that starting point (runs the hot nozzle over it) to level it.
When to change it
- For any multicolor print, like a sign with letters in another color: on, as it comes by default.
- Only turn it off if you want a tower with a fully closed wall.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| On | Defaultdefault |
| Off | Closed wall |
Watch out for
- Turning it off also turns off ironing of the starting point.
- It only shows up with the prime tower turned on.
