Overhang speed, 100%
How fast wall lines go when they hang out completely, with no support at all from the layer below. They're wall bridges: the slower, the less they droop.
How it works
A wall line with 100% overhang doesn't touch the layer below: it's stretched through the air like a bridge between two points. At 10 mm/s (the factory value) the strand cools as it moves and doesn't sag.
It happens on faces that lean out more than the line can rest on, or in the first few millimeters of a sudden overhang.
When to change it
- The usual choice: leave it at 10 mm/s.
- The underside edge of a hook or a shelf that comes out with dangling strands even at 10 mm/s: it's time to add supports.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 10 | Defaultdefault |
| 25 | Faster; strands may droop |
Watch out for
- If the slicer marks as 100% an area you thought was just sloped, the line isn't resting on anything: check the line width or add support.
