Gap infill speed
How fast the little bits of line that fill gaps between walls are printed. They're short stretches of uneven width: lowering it cleans up thin areas.
How it works
When the space left between two walls can't fit another loop, the slicer fills it with bits of line that zigzag. They're short and vary in width, so the amount of plastic coming out changes constantly. At 250 mm/s (the factory value) the printer barely gets up to speed on each one, and in practice they go slower.
When to change it
- The usual choice: leave it at 250 mm/s.
- A sign with thin lettering or a raised logo whose narrow areas come out with bumps or strings: lower it to 100 mm/s.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 100 | Cleaner thin areas |
| 250 | Defaultdefault |
Watch out for
- With “Wall generator” set to “Arachne” there are far fewer gaps to fill and this speed matters less.
