Symmetric infill Y axis
Flips the infill pattern like a mirror, across the Y axis. It's so two symmetric parts (left and right) also get a mirrored infill texture.
How it works
With “Zig Zag”, “Cross Zag” or “Locked Zag”, the infill leaves a visible texture if the faces are left open or the filament is translucent. If you print a part and its mirror twin, that texture won't be symmetric: the pattern is drawn the same way in both. If you turn this on for one of them, its pattern flips and the pair matches.
When to change it
- A pair of left and right lampshades, or the two wings of a decorative plane printed in translucent filament: turn it on for just one of the two.
- Everything else: off.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| No | Defaultdefault |
| Yes | Mirrored pattern |
Watch out for
- Turn it on per object (“Objects” tab), on the part you want to flip, not in the global settings.
- It only shows up with “Zig Zag”, “Cross Zag” or “Locked Zag”.

If the model has two parts that are symmetric about the y-axis, and you want these parts to have symmetric textures, please click this option on one of the parts.
