Ironing direction

The angle of the ironing lines compared with the lines of the top face. Going diagonally closes the grooves better.

Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Ironing Type” is not “No ironing”. See Ironing Type.

How it works

If ironing runs parallel to the lines of the layer, the nozzle drops into the same grooves and doesn't close them. If it crosses them at an angle, each pass rides over several ridges. That's why the factory value is 45°.

The angle is relative to the top face, not to the plate: if you rotate the part, the ironing rotates with it.

When to change it

  • You'll almost never need to change it.
  • An ironed box lid that shows obvious parallel stripes: try 90°.
