Internal solid infill speed
How fast the solid layers you can't see are printed: the ones under the top, above the bottom and in small areas. It runs almost as fast as the infill; lowering it helps those layers close up properly.
How it works
These layers close off the gaps in the infill and hold up the top surface, but they stay hidden. They run at 250 mm/s (the factory value), a little slower than the infill, because their lines sit right next to each other and need to fuse well.
The visible top surface has its own, lower speed.
When to change it
- The usual choice: leave it at 250 mm/s.
- A box with a flat lid that comes out with pits even though it has enough layers: lower it to 150 mm/s so the solid layers underneath close up better.
