Smart scarf angle threshold
The angle above which a corner no longer works as a hiding spot and the loop gets a scarf. Higher means less scarf; lower means more.
How it works
Each wall loop has corners with different angles: 90° on a box, 120° on a hexagon, close to 180° on a cylinder (practically no corner). The slicer looks at the angle at the point where the seam goes: if it's wider than this threshold, the loop has no sharp corners and gets a scarf; if not, a normal seam goes in the corner.
At 155°, a box keeps a normal seam and a cylinder gets a scarf. If you lower it a lot, toward 90°, even boxes get a scarf.
When to change it
- A box with rounded edges, where the seam still shows because the corner is soft: lower it to 120 or 135°.
- A cup or a cylinder, where you only want a scarf on the round parts: leave it at 155°.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 90° | Scarf even on square corners |
| 155° | Defaultdefault |
| 175° | Scarf only on near-perfect curves |
Watch out for
- It only works if “Smart scarf seam application” is turned on.

What Bambu Studio says
This option sets the threshold angle for applying a conditional scarf joint seam. If the seam angle within the perimeter loop exceeds this value (indicating the absence of sharp corners), a scarf joint seam will be used. The default value is 155°.
