Shrinkage
How much the filament shrinks as it cools. The program scales the part up in X and Y to make up for it.
How it works
Some plastics shrink as they cool: a part drawn at 100 mm comes out at 99 or 98. If you enter what it measures here (99%), the program prints it slightly bigger so that, once cool, it measures what it should.
Only the outer wall filament counts. The compensation happens after checking parts fit on the plate: leave room between them.
When to change it
- PLA: 100%, no compensation.
- ABS, ASA or nylon that always come out smaller: measure a test part and enter the percentage.

Watch out for
- If only the holes or only the outline come out wrong, use the Process X-Y compensations, not this.

What Bambu Studio says
Enter the shrinkage percentage that the filament will get after cooling (94% if you measure 94mm instead of 100mm). The part will be scaled in xy to compensate. Only the filament used for the perimeter is taken into account. Be sure to allow enough space between objects, as this compensation is done after the checks.
