Scarf length
How many millimeters long the scarf seam ramp is. Longer gives a smoother joint; 0 turns it off.
Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Override filament scarf seam setting” is on. See Override filament scarf seam setting.
How it works
The ramp spreads the joint over a distance. At 10 mm (what Bambu filaments come with), the end and the start of the loop overlap enough for the seam to go unnoticed on most parts.
On loops shorter than the requested length, the slicer shortens the scarf to whatever fits.
When to change it
- A large, smooth vase where you can still see the seam: raise it to 20 or 30 mm.
- A small figure with lots of detail: lower it to 5 mm so the scarf doesn't take up half the loop.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0 | Scarf off |
| 10 | Defaultdefault |
| 20 | Large surfaces |
Watch out for
- If “Scarf around entire wall” is turned on, this length is ignored.
- In the process it only shows up if “Override filament scarf seam setting” is turned on.
