Prime tower rib wall
Adds four diagonal ribs at the corners of the prime tower and keeps it square: that way it handles bumps much better without getting bigger. With this on, the slicer decides the width.
How it works
A plain column wobbles as it grows. The ribs at the corners brace it like the buttresses of a wall: they take up less room than making the whole tower wider and use less plastic.
The slicer sizes them based on height: the taller the tower, the longer the ribs. That's why, with this on, you can't set the width by hand. In the Spanish version of the program it shows up as “Pared torácica”.
When to change it
- For almost anything, especially tall towers or very sticky filaments like PETG: on, as it comes by default.
- A plate full of two-color keychains, with a short tower that doesn't fit: turn it off and set a small “Width”.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| On | Defaultdefault |
| Off | Classic column, manual width |
Watch out for
- Turning it on reveals “Extra rib length”, “Rib width” and “Fillet wall” (the rounded corners).
- It only shows up with the prime tower turned on.

What Bambu Studio says
The wall of prime tower will add four ribs and make its cross-section as close to a square as possible, so the width will be fixed.
