Inner wall line width
How wide the hidden walls are, the ones between the outer face and the infill. It's usually a bit wider to add body and save time.
How it works
When you ask for 2 or more walls, all except the outermost are inner walls. Nobody sees them, so a slightly wider line pays off here: each pass lays down more material, overlaps better with the outer wall, and the shell comes out more solid in less time.
Bambu profiles set it to 0.45 mm, compared with 0.42 mm for the outer wall.
When to change it
- A shelf bracket or a part that will carry weight: raise it to 0.5 or 0.6 mm for sturdier walls without adding loops.
- A box with very thin walls where two lines don't fit: lowering it can let the second wall fit instead of leaving a gap.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0.42 | Same as the outer wall |
| 0.45 | Standarddefault |
| 0.55 | More solid shell |
Watch out for
- With “Wall generator” set to Arachne, the width adjusts on its own in narrow areas; this value is the starting point, not a fixed width.
- Wider at the same speed means more plastic per second: keep an eye on the filament's “Max volumetric speed” (how much plastic the nozzle can melt per second).
