Minimum wall width
With Arachne: the thinnest a wall line is allowed to get, as a percentage of the nozzle diameter. With a 0.4 mm nozzle, 85% is 0.34 mm.
How it works
Arachne narrows lines where it needs to, but a line that's too thin doesn't print well: the plastic doesn't get pressed down onto the layer below. This value is the limit.
Details in the model thinner than this width (but above the “Minimum feature size”) are thickened up to it. If the detail is wider than the minimum, the wall comes out as wide as the detail.
When to change it
- A keychain with thin letters that come out too fat or blend together: lower it to 60 or 70%.
- Thin ribs on a grille that come loose or have gaps: raise it to 90 or 100%.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 50% | 0.2 mm; very thin, only with good calibration |
| 85% | Default (0.34 mm)default |
| 100% | Never thinner than the nozzle |
Watch out for
- It only does anything with the Arachne wall generator.
- Below about 0.75 times the nozzle width (0.3 mm with a 0.4 mm nozzle), the strand of plastic gets stretched and doesn't stick well: lowering this value a lot brings that problem.

What Bambu Studio says
Width of the wall that will replace thin features (according to the Minimum feature size) of the model. If the Minimum wall width is thinner than the thickness of the feature, the wall will become as thick as the feature itself. It's expressed as a percentage over nozzle diameter
