Wall filament
Which filament prints the walls. “Default” uses the filament assigned to the object; picking another gives you an outside in one material and an inside in another.
How it works
The walls are what you see and what gives strength. You can print them with a different filament from the infill: for example, silk PLA outside and regular PLA inside.
Every layer adds a filament change with its purge.
When to change it
- Almost always: Default.
- A vase or figure with the outside in shiny silk PLA and the inside in regular PLA: try it and see how much the time goes up.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| Default | Defaultdefault |
| Another filament | Special outside |
Watch out for
- The top and bottom layers aren't walls: they come out in the default filament.
