Support material
Marks the filament as support material: made not to stick to the part and to come off almost by itself.
How it works
Filaments like “Support for PLA” are made to bond weakly with the part's material. Used in the support interface (the layer that touches the part), the support comes off almost by itself and the underside comes out smooth.
It's a profile flag: the program uses it to suggest that filament for support.
When to change it
- The support filament's profile sets it; don't turn it on for a normal PLA.
Typical values

Watch out for
- With support filament in the interface, Bambu Studio suggests lowering the support Z distance to 0: accept.
- Only shown with Develop mode turned on in Preferences.
