Prime tower without empty layers (experimental)
Print the prime tower only on layers where the filament changes; on those, the toolhead moves down to the tower to print it. It saves plastic, but it's up to you to make sure it doesn't hit the part.
How it works
The prime tower is the separate block where the nozzle cleans itself when switching colors. Normally it's printed on every layer, with or without a change, so it grows at the same pace as the part.
With this option, the tower skips layers without a change. When a change comes, the toolhead moves down to the tower's last layer, prints it and goes back up. Since it goes below the current height, it can hit the part if the tower is close or the part is wide at the top. The program doesn't check for this.
When to change it
- Almost always: off (default).
- A sign with letters in another color only on the last layers, with the tower far from the part: turn it on so you don't waste plastic on tower layers with no changes.

Watch out for
- Keep the tower well away from the part and check the preview before printing.
- Only visible in developer mode.

What Bambu Studio says
If enabled, the wipe tower will not be printed on layers with no toolchanges. On layers with a toolchange, extruder will travel downward to print the wipe tower. User is responsible for ensuring there is no collision with the print.
