Initial layer travel acceleration
How hard the print head speeds up and brakes on travel moves during the first layer. Gentler than on the rest of the part, so it doesn't rip up lines that have just stuck down.
How it works
On the first layer, the lines of plastic have only just stuck to the plate, and a sudden travel move can catch them and lift them. That's why travel acceleration here is 6000 mm/s² (the default), versus 10,000 on the other layers.
When to change it
- Most parts: leave 6000.
- A keychain with thin letters whose tips lift on the first layer after a jump: lower to 3000.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 3000 | Very gentle travel |
| 6000 | Defaultdefault |
Watch out for
- It only affects the first layer.
