Monotonic line travel extend
When each line of a monotonic top surface ends, the nozzle keeps going straight a tiny bit farther, into the wall, before turning. More extension gives a cleaner edge; too much can bulge next to the wall.
How it works
Normally the nozzle finishes a line and turns right away toward the next one. That sharp turn leaves a small mark on the edge of the top surface, next to the wall. With this extension, the nozzle continues a few tenths of a millimeter into the inner wall and turns there, where it can't be seen.
It's set as a percentage of the inner wall line width. It only works when the top or bottom surface pattern is “Monotonic line”.
When to change it
- A box with a flat lid whose edge looks marked next to the wall, or a bracket with holes that come out rough around the rim: try 45%.
- If bumps appear next to the wall after raising it, lower it.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0% | Default; no extensiondefault |
| 45% | Cleaner edge in most cases |
| 100% | The full wall width; may bulge |
Watch out for
- It only shows up with developer mode turned on in Preferences.
- It does nothing if the top surface uses a different pattern.
