Tower interface features
Uses special temperature, pre-extrusion and purge settings on the prime tower layers where the material changes, so the two parts stick together and the tower doesn't split.
How it works
When a tower switches from one material to another (for example, PLA at the bottom and support filament on top), that joint is the weak spot: if it doesn't bond, the top part falls off.
With this option, on those joint layers the slicer raises the temperature, pushes out a little filament before entering the tower (the pre-extrusion), purges and slows down on the infill; that way the joint holds. Only the H2D, H2C and X2D apply it; on the A1 it has no effect.
When to change it
- On the A1: it doesn't matter; leave it off, as it comes by default.
- An H2D printing a PLA figure with the support interface in PETG, and the tower splits at the joint: turn it on.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| Off | Defaultdefault |
| On | H2D / H2C / X2D with materials that bond poorly |
Watch out for
- In some versions it only shows up in developer mode.
