Support ironing pattern
The path the nozzle follows when ironing the support interface: straight lines or concentric rings. Same as for top surface ironing.
Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Enable ironing support interface” is on. See Enable ironing support interface.
How it works
When ironing, the nozzle sweeps the surface while laying almost no plastic. With “Rectilinear” it goes in parallel lines; with “Concentric” it follows the outline of the area in rings working inward.
On a support interface, which is usually an irregularly shaped patch, concentric leaves fewer turnaround marks at the edges; rectilinear is faster and more even.
When to change it
- Almost everything: “Rectilinear” (the default).
- Rounded interfaces, like under a dome or under a figure's head, or when rectilinear's turnarounds show at the edges: “Concentric”.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| Rectilinear | Defaultdefault |
| Concentric | Rounded areas |
Watch out for
- It only shows up with support interface ironing turned on.
- Pair it with the ironing direction: rectilinear at 45° crosses the interface lines better.
