Speed at starting height
The speed cap when the height slowdown begins. At 1000 mm/s (the factory value) it limits nothing: set it to the part's normal speed.
Not always visible. In Bambu Studio this setting only shows up when “Slow down by height” is on. See Slow down by height.
How it works
It's the starting point of the ramp: at the starting height the speed can't go above this value, and from there it drops to the ending speed. Since it's a cap, if it's higher than the profile's speeds it changes nothing.
When to change it
- A tower or a tall figure: set it to your usual outer wall speed (200 mm/s) so the ramp starts without a jump.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 1000 | Default; no limitdefault |
| 200 | Starts at the A1's normal speed |
Watch out for
- It only shows up with “Slow down by height” turned on.

Using another slicer? Look for the idea, not the name: in Orca Slicer almost everything has the same name; in PrusaSlicer or Cura it may be called something else, or not exist.
