Max bridge length
Up to what length a bridge (a span in the air held up at both ends) prints without tree support. At 0, every bridge gets support; with a very large value, none do.
How it works
Short bridges hold themselves up because the strands stretch tight between the two supports. This number is the length at which the tree support decides the bridge needs help.
When a bridge is longer, the slicer splits it into sections of that length and puts a branch at each joint, not under the whole bridge.
When to change it
- If you don't want surprises: 0 (the Bambu profile value), everything supported.
- A PLA box with short slots and windows, with good cooling: 10–15 mm, so they come out clean and branch-free.
- Materials that sag, like PETG or TPU: leave it at 0 or very low.
Typical values
| Value | What for |
|---|---|
| 0 | All bridges supported; defaultdefault |
| 10–15 mm | PLA: short bridges unsupported |
| 30 mm | Only with good cooling |
Watch out for
- It only exists for tree supports; normal supports use “Don't support bridges”.
- A huge value leaves every bridge unsupported, long ones included.
